The BOSU® Standard Balance Dome features a new, improved design and durability. It has a bladder weight of 8 pounds, a dually over-molded platform for extra strength, and a smooth, non-skid, non-marking base. The blue dome is equipped with a light grey clamp and platform.
A BOSU Balance Dome, or BOSU ball, is a fitness training ball that consists of an inflated rubber hemisphere attached to a rigid platform. The name is an acronym which stands for "Both Sides Utilized". When the dome side faces up, the BOSU ball provides an unstable surface while the device remains stable. As the name suggests, the device can also be flipped over so that the platform faces up, making it highly unstable. In either position, the BOSU ball supports a wide range of users, including young, elderly, injured, and elite athletes.
